The gold standard in ear care
We use microsuction — widely regarded as the safest and most effective method of ear wax removal. Unlike traditional syringing, it uses gentle suction without introducing water into the ear canal.
- No water, no mess, no syringing
- Safe for people with a perforated eardrum
- Olive oil drops recommended beforehand
- Fast — appointments up to 30 minutes
- Performed with the TympaHealth digital otoscope
- Immediate relief from symptoms
A real before-and-after — a blocked ear canal cleared in a single appointment.

Frequently asked questions
How much does ear wax removal cost?
Microsuction is £49 for one ear or £65 for both ears, and a home visit is £150. Every appointment starts with an ear examination, and if there’s no wax to remove, you won’t be charged for the microsuction.
Does microsuction hurt?
No — microsuction is gentle and comfortable, and most people feel nothing more than a slight suction sound. It’s widely regarded as the safest method of ear wax removal and is the same technique used in hospital ENT departments.
How long does the appointment take?
Most appointments take around 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how much wax there is. In many cases you’ll feel relief straight away.
Do I need to use olive oil beforehand?
Yes, please. Using olive oil drops or spray twice a day for three to five days before your appointment softens the wax so it can be removed easily and comfortably.
What’s the difference between microsuction and ear syringing?
Syringing flushes the ear with water, which isn’t suitable for everyone and carries a higher risk of infection. Microsuction is a dry procedure that gently vacuums the wax out under magnification — safer, cleaner and more precise.
Is it safe if I have a perforated eardrum?
Yes — because microsuction doesn’t introduce water into the ear, it’s the preferred method for anyone with a perforated eardrum or a history of ear surgery. Please tell us when you book.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — we only perform microsuction on adults aged 18 and over.
Do you cover Wimbledon?
Yes. We’re at 211 Worple Road in Raynes Park, on the edge of Wimbledon, and we see patients from across Wimbledon, Merton and south-west London.
