About the vaccine

Course: The chickenpox vaccination requires two doses for complete immunisation.

Boosters: Once the two-dose course is completed, no further boosters are necessary.

How it is Given: The vaccine is administered via an injection, typically in the upper arm or thigh.

Side Effects: Common side effects include mild fever, fatigue, or digestive issues. In some instances, a mild chickenpox-like rash may occur.

Age Restrictions: The chickenpox vaccine is recommended for individuals aged 12 months to 65 years who have not previously had chickenpox.

Important Notes
– This vaccine is not suitable for pregnant women or those attempting to conceive.
– The chickenpox vaccination should either be given on the same day as the MMR jab or spaced at least 4 weeks apart from it.
